2009
The company was founded by Ian Dodson & Anthony Quigley and we delivered our first classroom training on the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing.
Postgraduate Launch + GIAC
2010 - 2012
We launched our Postgraduate expert-level certificate, founded our Global Industry Advisory Council (GIAC) and signed our first educational partner.
EQF Mapping & B2B Offering
2012 - 2016
We received quality assurance from the Scottish Qualifications Authority and mapped content to the European Qualifications Framework
Investment & Australian Base
2016 - 2018
We received a €26 million investment from Spectrum Equity and opened an office in Brisbane, Australia.
AMA & Membership
2018 - 2020
We launched our membership platform and partnered with the American Marketing Association (AMA) to offer dual certification on core course content.
AMI Partnership
2021
We partnered with the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) to deliver industry-leading training and skills development to students in Australia.
Neil Patel Digital
2022
We partnered with Neil Patel Digital to create a new and improved Search Marketing Specialist certification course.
Acquisition & Expansion
2023
We were acquired by BPP Education Group and launched a new Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing.

Ken Fitzpatrick
CEO
Ken has held senior digital leadership positions for over 20 years. He joined the Digital Marketing Institute from his position as CEO of Simply Zesty, a social media marketing agency in Ireland/UK which he led to be acquired. Prior to that he was Group CEO at Saongroup.com, a global online recruitment business.
Michael Goeden
Head of Strategy & Development
Michael has over 20 years' international experience in the education and training sector, most recently with the City & Guilds Group. Throughout his career, Michael has held roles including trainer, lecturer, operations manager, quality manager, e-learning development, business development and strategy.
Damien Flynn
Chief Financial Officer
Damien is CFO at Digital Marketing Institute since April 2013. Damien held finance positions in the spaces of property finance and education, prior to completing his training in practice in Audit and Advisory where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Órla Stack
Human Resources Director
Órla has over 17 years' experience working in Human Resource Management, Training and Development. Prior to joining Digital Marketing Institute in 2017, Órla spent 14 years working within the Hospitality industry, her previous role was as Group HR & Training Manager for one of the fastest growing Hostel brands in the world.
Pamela Egan
Global Sales Director
Pamela joined DMI in August 2015 with the responsibility of developing and growing our direct online and corporate business. Pamela currently leads our Direct Sales Teams based in Ireland, USA and Australia servicing a Global customer base. Previously Pamela worked in Dell Computer Corporate where she held various sales leadership roles over her 17 year tenure with particular focus on new sales team set up and development.
David Behan
Chief Technical Officer
David has over 20 years' experience helping businesses with their digital transformation working with leading Irish brands and international companies, including Dublin GAA, PwC, Mediolanum Bank, Darkness into Light, Johnson & Johnson, and Vanderbilt Industries.
David Mooney
Global Partner Sales Director
David has over 25 years' experience working with Partners. most recently with Xerox. David and his team are responsible for growing the DMI Global Partner Network through acquisition of new Partners and expansion of current Partners.
Mischa McInerney
Director of Marketing
Mischa has over 20 years' experience developing digital strategies to build brands through digital channels and deliver scalable growth through marketing automation. Commercially focused, she has worked in Asia, Australia and Europe delivering growth and innovation across a broad range of industries including utilities, financial services and real estate.
