When I decided to rejoin the workforce, I recognized the digital skills gap in my CV, and knew it needed to be addressed before approaching potential employers.
Tell us a bit about your experience before the Digital Marketing Institute
I have been worked in a number of different roles in the financial services industry for the past 18 years. Positions ranged from working in the local office to managing contact centers and business development teams. Every role had a large focus on putting the customer first.
What influenced your decision to study digital?
I have always had a strong interest in the Digital Field, and working in sales and business development, I wanted to learn about new ways to attract prospects. I decided to study with the Digital Marketing Institute to empower myself and to ensure that our organization always uses the most cost-effective approach to achieve our sales and marketing goals.
Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your career progressed?
My current employer has given me a new opportunity to work at a more senior level. I'm now tasked with growing our marketing position and brand awareness. I have also been approached with potential new opportunities through a new employer.
Why did you choose to study the Professional Diploma with the Digital Marketing Institute?
I came across the Digital Marketing Institute website while doing some research and found that the diploma advertised was the right fit for my work-life balance commitments. Having the ability to study at my own pace was a big advantage. There were also a number of support tools in place to guide me through the modules and provide reassurance.
Is there any advice you would give to new or future students at the Digital Marketing Institute?
Plan your time wisely and keep to the plan. There is so much support available, so use it when you need it. Remember that others are looking to achieve the same qualification, so don't be afraid to ask questions and share your thoughts.

Empowering
